Water treatment chemicals
Water is an increasingly scarce resource and a key driver of economic and social development. A S Harrison & Co is committed to helping the Australian water market to face the current challenges and meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #6. The target set by this SDG is to “ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all” by 2030 and is linked with other SDGs aiming to improve sanitation, health, economic and social growth of all the communities.
Technologies
Since the natural supply of water is unable to meet modern demands, municipal water suppliers around the world have undertaken a number of technologies to increase supply, including the usage of reverse osmosis (RO) in a number of different applications. These applications include seawater/groundwater (brackish) desalination and water recycling. Simultaneously, there are industries that greatly benefit from high-quality water including power generation, coal seam gas, oil & gas, mining and refineries.
In the water treatment process, there are many stages. These may include sedimentation, clarification and flocculation, multimedia filters, microfiltration, ultrafiltration and RO to remove the smallest impurities before the final disinfection stage.
Our antiscalants, antifoulants, cleaning chemicals, coagulants and corrosion inhibitors are NSF/ANSI 60 certified for use in potable water applications.
