BCP™ range is designed for industrial and municipal wastewater applications used in wastewater lagoons, aerobic digester, anerobic and activated sludge processes, as well as MBBRs.
Product | Description | Benefits | Applications |
---|---|---|---|
BCP-EU-FB™ | Blend of fungi and bacillus spore organisms. | BCP-EU-FB™ is effective in degrading many types of cellulosic and other wastes. BCP-EU-FB™ breaks down lignin and cellulose fibres and prevents malodorous conditions. It also reduces BOD and COD, suspended solids, and organic sludge on the bottom of ponds. | Wastewater lagoons. Aerobic digesters. SBRs (sequencing batch reactors). MBBRs (moving bed biofilm reactors). |
BCP10™ | Biological nutrients and stimulants. | BCP10™ will degrade complex organic chemicals such as phenols, benzene compounds, surfactants, and alcohols. This enhances BOD and COD removal and reduces sludge in lagoons. BCP10™ helps remove chemical deposits and prevent scum formation in holding tanks, sewers, drains, and aeration basins. It also accelerates the removal of unpleasant odours and increases the efficiency of overloaded treatment systems. | Application Dependent. Lagoons. |
BCP11™ | Biological nutrients and stimulants | BCP11™ is specifically targeted for treating chemical industry wastewater streams. BCP11™ improves effluent quality and increases wastewater treatment efficiency. It is also good for reducing plant upsets from shocks, helping new plant startups, controlling filaments, and lowering odor and foam. | Application Dependent. Chemical Waste Treatment. |
BCP12™ | Anaerobic Digesters. | BCP12™ for anaerobic digesters is good during hydrolysis and acidogenesis stages, helping to loosen and liquefy heavy grease deposits. In addition to reducing unpleasant odours, BCP12™ can control grease caps and FOG buildup; prevent the blocking, ponding, and possible collapse of filter bed media; and increase the efficiency of overloaded treatment systems. It can also be used to speed up biogas production from anaerobic digesters. | Aerobic digesters. SBRs (sequencing batch reactors) MBBRs (moving bed biofilm reactors). |
BCP22™ | Biological nutrients and stimulants. | BCP22™ is effective for waste with high concentrations of grease, often encountered in food industry applications. It loosens and liquefies heavy grease deposits by accelerating the biological degradation of wastewater containing high levels of fats, oils, and greases (FOG). | High Grease Food Processing. Municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. Food processing facilities (meat, dairy, etc.). Restaurants and food courts. Lift stations. |
BCP35M™ | Biological nutrients and stimulants. | BCP35M™ degrades petroleum products. This enhances BOD and COD removal, while improving sludge settlement. It also helps remove oil deposits and prevent scum formation in holding tanks, sewers, drains, and aeration basins. BCP35M™ accelerates the breakdown of unpleasant odours associated with handling oil wastes and can be used in petroleum refinery applications and for cleanup of oil spills. | Activated Sludge Systems. Trickling Filter and Rotating. Biological Contactor. Lagoon Systems. Refinery. Petrochemical. Marine and Wastewater. |
BCP35S™ | Fungi and a higher percentage of special bacteria to enhance degradation. | BCP35S™ is formulated for bioremediation of soil contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons and related wastes. It contains highly specialised microorganisms that will degrade a wide range of petroleum hydrocarbons (gasoline, diesel, crude oil, and other petroleum products), thus reducing their environmental impact. The product is suitable for many different soils and varying levels of contamination. BCP35S™ Premium is an enhanced version of BCP35S™ specially formulated to target PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons). | Industrial site remediation. Oil spill cleanup. Gas station soil restoration. Construction site soil rehabilitation. Landfill site reclamation. |
BCP50™ | Biological nutrients and stimulants. | BCP50™ contains strains of bacteria to biodegrade organic material comprised of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and select hydrocarbons in municipal activated sludge. This basic formula is efficient in municipal wastewater treatment to improve water quality and enhance activity of microorganisms—especially important during reseeding and startup. BCP50™ can also help to reduce sludge and odours where needed and can be applied in colder temperatures. | Municipal Activated Sludge. Activated Sludge Systems. |
BCP57™ | Biological nutrients and stimulants | BCP57™ is efficient for wastes from pulp and paper industries. It decreases BOD and TSS in effluent and increases the efficiency of overloaded treatment systems. Bioaugmentation with BCP57™ accelerates the degradation of unpleasant odours associated with handling these wastes. BCP57™ also helps reseed after plant upset. | Activated Sludge Systems. Trickling Filter and Rotating Biological Contactor. Lagoon Systems. Pulp and Paper Waste BioAugmentation. |
BCP60™ | Biological nutrients and stimulants. | BCP60™ for lagoon treatment contains strains of bacteria to perform under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions to biodegrade organic material comprised of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and select hydrocarbons. Bioaugmentation with BCP60™ can reduce sludge and odours, improve effluent, and accelerate startup. | Lagoon Treatment. Anerobic Systems. Lagoon Systems. |
BCP95™ | Biological nutrients and stimulants. | BCP95™ contains strains of bacteria that biodegrade phenol and related aromatic compounds such as cumene, catechol, and cresol. This is helpful for wastewater coming from steel coking, coal conversion, petroleum cracking, and the production of plastic resins and pharmaceuticals. BCP95™ helps prevent poor removal efficiencies, disrupted flocculation, or general plant upsets that result from variable phenolic loadings. | Activated Sludge Systems. Trickling Filter and Rotating Biological Contactor. Lagoon Systems. Degradation of Phenols. |
BCP655™ | Biological nutrients and stimulants. | BCP655™ bioconverter for industrial and municipal lagoons can help reduce ammonia levels and remove organic nitrogen (i.e., amino acids, proteins, purines, pyrimidines, and nucleic acids) from wastewater rather than converting it to another form (such as conversion of ammonia to nitrate or nitrite). BCP655™ helps to eliminate expensive surcharges due to high TKN discharge levels and can be used with A55L™ to increase overall nitrogen removal. | Wastewater lagoons. Other biological treatment units. BioConverter for Industrial and Municipal Lagoons. |
Product and customer insights
Despite numerous cleanings, the productivity of the Reverse Osmosis plant would not recover from severe membrane fouling. The membrane autopsy revealed that the ferric hydroxide was seeding
silica polymerization and that even while the ferric hydroxide was removed, the silica scaling was continuing to grow.
The plant was experiencing weekly shutdowns for fiber clean up (~ 3 kg bags of matted slurry is cleaned per week). The shut downs were costly as they reduce plant availability for production.
The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) regulation, known as IMO 2020 was the the largest change in regulation relating to marine fuels impacting 75% of the fuel used by the shipping industry.
