Corrosion inhibitors play a critical role in closed loop applications within water treatment environments, providing essential protection against corrosion to ensure the longevity and reliability of heating and cooling systems.
Closed Loop Toad® offers a convenient solution for corrosion protection in closed loop cooling systems. As a water-soluble PVA bag containing Vapour phase Corrosion Inhibitors, Closed Loop Toad® effectively guards against corrosion during system operation or layup periods, preserving equipment integrity and minimising maintenance requirements.
Specialised corrosion inhibitors additives includes ranges that prevent corrosion caused by chlorides and high temperatures in water and glycol-based closed-loop systems. These additives provide robust protection against corrosion, safeguarding system components and enhancing operational efficiency even in demanding environments.
For comprehensive corrosion protection in both operation and layup scenarios, the S-69 Series offers liquid and powder corrosion inhibitors suitable for use in a variety of closed-loop applications. These inhibitors effectively protect ferrous and non-ferrous metals from corrosion, ensuring the durability and reliability of chill and hot water systems.
In closed loop applications, it’s essential to protect a wide range of metals from corrosion, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, carbon and stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass. Specialised products are available to address the specific corrosion challenges posed by different metals, providing tailored protection to maintain system integrity and optimize performance.
Overall, corrosion inhibitors are essential components of closed loop water treatment strategies, offering targeted protection against corrosion to ensure the efficiency and reliability of heating and cooling systems. Whether it’s the convenience of Closed Loop Toad®, the specialised protection of the M Series, or the versatility of the S-69 Series, these corrosion inhibitors provide effective defense against corrosion, prolonging the service life of closed-loop systems and minimising maintenance costs.

Despite numerous cleanings, the productivity of the Reverse Osmosis plant would not recover from severe membrane fouling. The membrane autopsy revealed that the ferric hydroxide was seeding
silica polymerization and that even while the ferric hydroxide was removed, the silica scaling was continuing to grow.
The plant was experiencing weekly shutdowns for fiber clean up (~ 3 kg bags of matted slurry is cleaned per week). The shut downs were costly as they reduce plant availability for production.
The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) regulation, known as IMO 2020 was the the largest change in regulation relating to marine fuels impacting 75% of the fuel used by the shipping industry.
