Volunteering Day at Tharwal Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service (TACAMS)

At A S Harrison & Co we encourage our employees to get involved with volunteering initiatives as part of our Staff Volunteering Program. The program encourages staff to take one work day per year to help out at a local charity or community project. Just before Christmas our Food Team used their Volunteering Day to support this very important local project headed by the Tharwal Aboriginal Corporation.

The Food Team’s Volunteer Day at Tharwal

Thari and Deb meeting Darryl Wright, CEO of Tharwal, who is very keen for them to come back and help again next year!

Thari Mudalige and Debbie Velez from our Food Team were excited to spend the day with the fantastic team at TACAMS. Before being put to work they were given a site tour of the facilities meeting the head Doctor, the Nurses and most of the staff at the teaching and training centre.

The organisation relies on funding and community support and it was a unique opportunity to learn about the challenges faced by the organisation while lending a hand.

Thari and Deb were put to work right away weeding and sweeping as well as tidying the grounds and then wrapping gifts for the children in Childcare just in time for the Christmas celebrations.
