MCI® ADMIXTURES

MCI® stands for Migrating Corrosion Inhibitor and Cortec® MCI® concrete admixtures are based on amine technology (amine alcohols & amine carboxylates).
 
MCIs are classified as mixed inhibitors meaning they affect both anodic and cathodic areas of a corrosion cell.   They are attracted to metal surfaces where they form a protective layer to prevent or reduce corrosion. MCIs are unique in that they have a vapor phase, allowing them to move into areas immediately adjacent the application, extending their corrosion inhibiting coverage.

Have the capability to migrate to adjacent areas to protect surrounding materials. Only needs to be applied with a single dosage rate irrespective of anticipated exposure to corrosive elements. retard set time by 3 – 4 hours at temperatures of 21°C. Mixed inhibitors meaning they protect both the cathode and the anode and have the ability to migrate through porous materials. All have been thoroughly lab and field tested with extensive history of case studies.

Consist of MCI®2006 NS powder pre measured into water soluble bags to be used as admixture in the concrete mix or repair mortar. These water soluble bags can be added into the mix on-site. MCI® Fibres Grenades consist of MCI®2006 NS powder as well as polypropylene MCI® Fibres which add mechanical benefits including 66% reduction in shrinkage cracking and 100% increase in residual strength. All properties of MCI®2006 NS also apply to these grenades.1 Grenade per m3
