Tackifiers are additives that can be used to increase the stickiness or tack of a lubricant allowing it to better adhere to metal surfaces.
This is useful in applications where a lubricating oil is applied directly to an exposed surface and is required to remain on the surface during operation such as chain and bar lubricants for chainsaws or rock drill lubricants.

Despite numerous cleanings, the productivity of the Reverse Osmosis plant would not recover from severe membrane fouling. The membrane autopsy revealed that the ferric hydroxide was seeding
