Pour Point Depressant Agents

Pour Point Depressants (PPDs) are polymers such as polyalkyl methacrylates (PAMA), which prevent or limit the wax crystal formation, allowing an oil to flow at lower temperatures, thus lowering the fluids pour point and improving the low temperature flow properties of the oil.

Product Description BenefitsApplications
Viscoplex® 1-300Viscoplex® 1-300 is a robust Pour Point Depressant. For use in Automotive and Industrial Lubricants. Particularly effective in GPIII base oil to achieve extremely low Pour Point. Recommended treat rate of 0.1-0.3% by mass. Higher treat rates – for example, 0.5% to 1.0% by weight – may be required for some gear oil formulationsAutomotive and Industrial Pour Point Depressants.
Viscoplex® 1-318Viscoplex® 1-318 is a robust Pour Point Depressant. For use in Automotive and Industrial Lubricants. Recommended for Chevron Oronite GPIII ACEA formulations. Recommended treat rate of 0.1-0.3% by mass. Higher treat rates – for example, 0.5% to 1.0% by weight –may be required for some gear oil formulations.Automotive and Industrial Pour Point
Depressants.
Viscoplex® 1-326Viscoplex® 1-326 is a general purpose Pour Point Depressant .For use in all oil-based fluids such as engine oils, hydraulic fluids, and gear oils. Gives very good performance in medium / heavy oil types such as 15W, 20W, 80W and 85W multigrades. Can also be a ‘problem solver’ for engine oils having difficulty with MRV TP-1.Automotive and Industrial Pour Point
Depressants.
Viscoplex® 1-330Viscoplex® 1-330 is a robust Pour Point Depressant. For use in Automotive and Industrial Lubricants. Recommended for Chevron Oronite GPII HDEO formulations. Recommended treat rate of 0.1-0.3% by mass. Automotive and Industrial Pour Point
Depressants.
Viscoplex® 1-425Viscoplex® 1-425 is a robust Pour Point Depressant.Leading-edge technology tailored to provide robust low-temperature solutions across a broad range of lubricants, but with particular emphasis on excellent control of MRV viscosity and yield stress as well as Scanning Brookfield Gelation Index. It is particularly effective in formulations using catalytically dewaxed base stocks and higher-ethylene content OCP VII in both fresh and aged oils (ROBO, CEC L-105). Viscoplex® 1-425 was developed to meet the stringent low-temperature requirements called for by the ILSAC GF-6 engine oil specification. Recommended by Chevron Oronite in all dexos™1
formulations. Typical addition rates are 0.1% to 0.5% by weight.
