Isocryl® C-30 | Isocryl® C-30 is a carboxyl functional acrylic resin. | Recommended for two-component, ambient/force cure NISO systems. Isocryl C-30 and C-30S form durable, chemical resistant coatings with superior gloss, distinctness of image, hardness, adhesion, and color depth. | Typical applications include general industrial, direct to metal, and heavy-duty machinery and equipment. |
Isocryl® C-70 | Isocryl® C-70 is a moderate to high Tg carboxyl functional solid acrylic resin. | Isocryl C-70 is soluble in alcohols, esters, ketones, and various UV monomers. Isocryl C-70 can aid in pigment dispersion, adhesion, hardness, appearance, and clarity of resin formulations in these applications. | Designed for use as a modifier in conventional and UV-curable inks, coatings, finger nail lacquers, and adhesives. |
Isocryl® C-78 | Isocryl® C-78 is a moderate to high Tg carboxyl functional solid acrylic resin. | Moderate to high Tg carboxyl functional solid acrylic resin. Appropriately formulated, Isocryl C-78 can afford coatings or adhesives with excellent chemical resistance, flexibility, outdoor durability, green strength, modulus and impact resistance. | Suitable for use as a curative resin in epoxy formulations such as acrylic hybrid powder coatings, industrial solvent based coatings, or adhesives. |
Isocryl® EP-570G | Isocryl® EP-570G is a glycidyl-functional acrylic hardener. | Benefits include consistent gloss, smooth matte appearance and dependable performance. Standard and superdurable polyester resins used for TGIC, Primid or Araldite PT-910 powder coatings are well suited for use with Isocryl EP-570G. In addition, Isocryl EP-570G has substantially improved compatibility with polyester/TGIC and epoxy resin based powder coatings. | Designed to produce low gloss, exterior-durable polyester powder coatings. |
Isocryl® EP-581 LT | Isocryl® EP-581 LT is a is a glycidyl-functional acrylic hardener. | Benefits include consistent gloss, smooth matte appearance and dependable performance. Standard and superdurable polyester resins used for TGIC, Primid or Araldite PT-912 powder coatings are well suited for use with Isocryl EP-581 LT. A key advantage is its lower cure capability over conventional matting hardeners and its predecessors Isocryl EP-570G and EP-575G. | Designed to produce low gloss, exterior-durable polyester powder coatings. |
Isocryl® EP-570 STG | Isocryl® EP-570 STG is a glycidyl-functional acrylic hardener. | A glycidyl-functional acrylic hardener designed to produce low gloss, exterior-durable polyester powder coatings. Benefits include consistent gloss, smooth matte appearance and dependable performance. A key advantage is its improved burnish resistance over conventional matting hardeners and its predecessors Isocryl EP-550G and EP-560G. | Designed to produce low gloss, exterior-durable polyester powder coatings. |
Isocryl® H-60 | Isocryl® H-60 is a general purpose moderate Tg, relatively low isocyanate demand, solid hydroxyl functional. | Isocryl H-60 provides cured coatings with outstanding chemical resistance and weatherability. | Acrylic resin suitable for use in 2K solution polyurethane or melamine cure formulations. |
Isocryl® H-270 | Isocryl® H-270 is a low glass transition (Tg), low hydroxyl functional acrylic resin. | It is suitable as a modifier to promote adhesion, flexibility, and internal plasticisation in air dry, melamine, and isocyanate cure systems. | Adhesives. Coatings. Inks. |

CHALLENGE A municipal reverse osmosis (RO) plant, with a capacity of 2 million gallons per day (MGD), faced frequent system cleanings, every 2-4 months, due to rising feed pressure. The plant, which sources water from brackish wells and uses Toray TMG-20D-400 membranes in a (16×7) -> (8×7) train configuration, was operating at 78% recovery. Despite […]
Despite numerous cleanings, the productivity of the Reverse Osmosis plant would not recover from severe membrane fouling. The membrane autopsy revealed that the ferric hydroxide was seeding
silica polymerization and that even while the ferric hydroxide was removed, the silica scaling was continuing to grow.
The plant was experiencing weekly shutdowns for fiber clean up (~ 3 kg bags of matted slurry is cleaned per week). The shut downs were costly as they reduce plant availability for production.
The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) regulation, known as IMO 2020 was the the largest change in regulation relating to marine fuels impacting 75% of the fuel used by the shipping industry.
