Product | Description | Benefits | Applications |
---|---|---|---|
Darvan® | Darvan® is a dispersing agent. | Anionic dispersing agent that disperse finely divided solids in water and help keep them dispersed. | Dispersing Agents are highly effective dispersants for mineral pigments and fillers in water-borne paints. |
Darvan® 1 SPRAY DRIED | Darvan® 1 SPRAY DRIED is a sodium polynaphthalenesulfonate. | A general purpose dispersing agent. It is a granular product composed of sodium salts of polymerized alkyl naphthalene sulfonic acid. It increases paste flow, allowing a higher percentageof pigment to be mixed into a given amount of vehicle. | Used in a variety of pigments in aqueous systems, including carbon black, mineral colorants, organic dyestuffs, fillers, extenders, and clays. |
Darvan® 7-N | Darvan® 7-N is a sodium polymethacrylate. | A sodium polymethacrylate-type dispersing agent, is a minimum foaming dispersing agent that is effective for dispersing mineral pigments in water-borne paints and coatings. | It is very effective for dispersing mineral fillers in latex paint formulas. |
Darvan® 670 | Darvan® 670 is a sodium salt of polymerized naphthalene sulfonates. | The is a general purpose anionic dispersing agents. Darvan® 670 is Darvan® 670L is a 40% aqueous solution of Darvan® 670. | Used for the preparation of aqueous dispersions of colored pigments, dyes, extender pigments, etc. for water-borne paints and coatings. |
Darvan® 670 L | Darvan® 670 L is a sodium salt of polymerized naphthalene sulfonates. | This is a general purpose anionic dispersing agents. Darvan®670L is a 40% aqueous solution of Darvan® 670. | Used for the preparation of aqueous dispersions of colored pigments, dyes, extender pigments, etc. for water-borne paints and coatings. |
Darvan® 811 | Darvan® 811 is a sodium polyacrylate. | A sodium polyacrylate dispersing agent, is effective for high solids mineral slurries such as TiO2, kaolin, calcium carbonate, wollastonite, etc. | Uses as a deflocculant for clay water systems. |

The plant was experiencing weekly shutdowns for fiber clean up (~ 3 kg bags of matted slurry is cleaned per week). The shut downs were costly as they reduce plant availability for production.
